Automatic Vacuum Sensing Valves for ANVER Vacuum Cups

Automatic Sensing Valves or Metered Flow Sensing Valves to Conserve Vacuum
Minimizes loss of vacuum when a vacuum cup is not on a load
Directly Mounts to the Vacuum Cup, Includes Internal Filter, Low cost

  • Automatic Flow Sensing Valves are available for Anver vacuum and suction cups, and are best used in applications when large numbers of vacuum cups do not fully cover the load, and you want to conserve vacuum to the cups which are on the load. The closer to the cup the better they work as they have less air to evacuate and are faster to attach and release.

  • An spring loaded float inside the valve seals the air passage from the cup to which it is attached, and prevents the majority of vacuum loss throughout the rest of the vacuum system. These valves are for non-and semi porous loads.

  • They can be used in any orientation on the cup, or in-line as they are spring loaded. They include a filter which can be removed. They can be slightly adjusted but rarely need to be. Just screw them in and they are ready to work.

  • Vacuum level is not as important, as long as the vacuum system flow is enough to retract the light spring used in the housing.

  • The valve is normally open; it almost closes when flow becomes excessive (typically the vacuum cup not touching a load) to conserve vacuum. These valves are great to use with large groups of cups. They have straight threads to insure all the cups will be at the same level. You can use a few to hundreds of these on a vacuum plenum. The more vacuum cups you have the more impressive the results. They allows you to use a smaller pump in many applications which pays for itself.

Note: These cups do not completely seal shut on purpose. They are designed to always have a tiny loss of vacuum so that the cup will have vacuum immediately if placed on a load. A typical application example would be handling a complete layer of cans from a skid layer where some might occasionally be missing. If a cup touches and seals to a load it immediately opens up to full vacuum allowing you to lift it.

Not for Dusty, Dirty Environments: Experience has shown that these valves are not suitable for dirty or dusty environments, as they can clog.  While these valves work great in automation, packaging and in plant operations they do not work well with heavy stone dust, slurry, abrasives or dusty wood. A blow-off system is helpful but will not ensure that unwanted debris is purged after each cycle if the application has heavy dirt. We also no longer provide a small screen inside because experience has shown they work better without them both on a suction and exhaust cycle. If your application is really dusty, save yourself aggravation by using filters between the cups and the vacuum pump. In this case no valves will work well and you need to use a larger main vacuum pump with a larger, easily changed filter instead.

NOTES:
The SLSA 1 and 2 suspensions can be used on the ASV18. The SLSA-2 fits on the ASV18 with an adapter but is sometimes a little too large for small cups. For this reason, the SLSA 1 can also be used as an alternative.

The "G" thread is also known as BSPP, commonly used world-wide for Vacuum Applications.
