Automated vacuum crane systems can be an economical alternative when choosing between a manually assisted vacuum lifter with integrated hoist and an automatic servo gantry system. Crane systems are ideal for operations requiring simple, rugged automation where high speed and precision of placement are not necessary and reaching into machinery is not required. Full overhead access is required of the loading surface. Typical applications include loading large heavy sheet and plate on to processing machinery. A crane system's accuracy is suitable for cutting tables with load edge locating ability. Crane based systems are similar to manually operated systems except they are CNC controlled. They are designed so operator need only push a button and the system will pick up one sheet and load it on to the table or it can run automatically.
